The first breakout session, although not completed in this session, could use a bit more detailed explanation. There appeared to be some confusion on the part of the participants. As the material becomes more familiar, this will likely not be an issue.

Anita did a great job creating a welcoming environment for the group right from the beginning. Acknowledging nerves and excitement let the group know you are connected to them and the material you are covering with them matters to you.

It is natural to want to read from notes when you are learning the material and getting started. Hopefully, as you become more familiar with the material this will happen less. Try to acknowledge folks when they add to the discussion with the group rather than just moving on so quickly to the next question or topic. Teresa asked a great question about replacing negative feelings with positive ones and it felt as if you were just wanting to move on from the question (even though we are sure that was not your intention) .
