How well did the facilitator lead the group and create a safe space? Please explain and give examples.

Dhesan has a very calm teaching style, which worked very well with this group. He did an exceptionally good job of encouraging people to keep their comments brief by asking for “headlines, not the whole story”. He was clear, but very gentle in the way he made this request. This is a very talkative group, which is wonderful, but it does make it difficult to get through all the material.

How well did the facilitator explain this Skill using the PowerPoint presentation? Please give examples.

Dhesan demonstrated a good understanding of the material and did an excellent job of putting the content into his own words.

How well did the facilitator explain and lead the activities in this Skill? Please explain and give specific examples.

There was a little bit of confusion about how to do the Spark to Fire Improv, but we worked it out and the activity went well. It is possible that he was referencing an earlier draft of the Facilitator Guide.

How well did the facilitator lead the Mindful Dialogues and Reflective Writing Exercises in this Skill? Please explain and give specific examples.

Dhesan gave clear directions to the group and kept good track of time, so this activity went well.

What aspects of this Skill did you think the facilitator did exceptionally well? Please give examples.

I especially liked the way he discussed the metaphors related to observing your thoughts.

How well did the facilitator lead the Contemplative Practice in this Skill? Please explain and give specific examples.

Extremely well. He spoke slowly, clearly and calmly with a very soothing voice. His timing was spot on.

What aspects of this Skill could the facilitator improve? Please give examples.

It might be helpful to identity the primary and secondary slides within each
presentation. The primary slides are the most important and the ones we want to spend
the most time on. Others, like the “Mental Proliferation Model” should be done more
quickly.
