Kaley did a great job of this from moment one. She was welcoming, warm, and added a personal touch when she shared that she was on her chromebook and couldn't see everyone. I know you wont' be facilitating this online, but that helped to personalize the session and humanize you. Thanking people for their comments and responses, well done.
The slides were used in a very appropriate manner to help facilitate conversation and keep the session moving the way it was intended. The slides were used to enhance dialogue and conversation and help participants understand the concepts by putting words and pictures together for greater understanding.
Kaley acknowledged all the comments from participants in a manner that made them feel heard and important as part of the group.
Great question - what is the difference between mental state and emotional state. Loved that you asked the group for feedback on that because it was a question for you.
Very organized, natural presence with the group.
Silence is your friend and you did a great job of letting there be silence in the group while they processed information and formulated their responses.
Great reference to the manual information.
As you become more comfortable the use of "um" will decline. Just something to be aware of in the future.
Monitoring time is a skill that will come with time and practice. Every group is different and will take some practice to figure out what information can be shortened or how a session can be modified depending on the "talkative" nature of the participants. You did well with this, just wanted to share that.
