How well did the facilitator lead the group and create a safe space? Please explain and give examples. | I am only sorry Ann Marie that I wasn’t able to make it live to this weeks session where you co-faciltated clearly so professionally, competently and in such an interactive and informative manner. I am glad that I was able to look back at the recording as well as the chance to check in with both Kaley and Anja to write this feedback. Opened the session |
How well did the facilitator explain this Skill using the PowerPoint presentation? Please give examples. | Overall, I felt that you did a great job of managing the slides for your first time taking on this challenging task, along side facilitating the content and all the other tasks involved in facilitating such a session demanding your attention and skills. Handing over to you co-facilitator Alex was generally smooth, courteous and showed that you had clearly done your prep together prior to the session and this will only become even more natural with you facilitate more with as many co-facilitators as possible I thought that you explained your slides and questions to your participants very clearly at nice pace and tone and allowed space for questions or clarifications if and when needed. |
How well did the facilitator explain and lead the activities in this Skill? Please explain and give specific examples. | Not only did we feel as a team that you facilitated the activities with clarity and skill but you also demonstrated that you were not afraid to share yourself while your co-facilitator was leading. For example, when you shared an answer to a couple of Alex’s questions showing that you were not afraid to lead from within the group in addition to when you had the facilitator hat on. It also showed that you were working as a cohesive team who supported one another when there was any period or prolonged silence in the group and where an intervention may have been required. |
How well did the facilitator lead the Mindful Dialogues and Reflective Writing Exercises in this Skill? Please explain and give specific examples. | Not applicable for this team during skill 7 |
What aspects of this Skill did you think the facilitator did exceptionally well? Please give examples. | Your affective empathy example relating to the fact that dogs also demonstrate affective empathy; clear description of concept. Demonstrated a great understanding of the content in a relatable manner. On a number of occasions you somehow managed to remember comments from participants and make reference to them being shared earlier in the session. I think this demonstrated great active listening but also valuing comments being made and encouraging others to share for the benefit of the whole group to connect to the skills using their own examples The way you managed to summarize and wrap-up many of the discussions that followed the activities or slides, for example, after the empathy line activity. You seemed to be inviting, listening, reflecting and encouraging the participants to add their comments and reactions. |
How well did the facilitator lead the Contemplative Practice in this Skill? Please explain and give specific examples. | I believe that this team chose not to facilitate the skill 7 CP in the interest of time. |
What aspects of this Skill could the facilitator improve? Please give examples. | While explaining and making reference back to the earlier skills, it might also be useful to have them seen on the screen to jog participants memories and show the connections and structure to the overall scaffolding to the training. There was just one example where I believe you introduced the slide, concept and definition without necessarily asking the participants for their interpretation of understanding of the concept was. |
