How well did the facilitator lead the group and create a safe space? Please explain and give examples.
Led with courage, agreeing to be first up and facilitate the Introduction, via Zoom, after the world suddenly shifted into pandemic mode, so that we could save time when we actually got together during said pandemic and did a Facilitator-in-Training (FIT) Intensive workshop. That kind of courage creates a sense of safety for others.
Managed to convey a warm and inviting tone on the phone, along with a professional and approachable appearance.
Engaged participants with questions and checking in before moving on
Effectively included everyone.
Included pauses to allow for lapses/transitions in the technology and asked to be sure everyone’s audio and video were working.
Was authentic, open and good natured throughout, perhaps the most important part of creating safe space and being a facilitator.
How well did the facilitator explain this Skill using the PowerPoint presentation? Please give examples.
Ensured that everyone was able to see the Intro PowerPoint.
Did a wonderful job following the PowerPoint, which helps people know what to expect, and then also provided clear instruction about what we’d be doing.
Used appropriate and relevant examples when sharing the components of a safe space with equally appropriate emphasis of their importance.
How well did the facilitator explain and lead the activities in this Skill? Please explain and give specific examples.
Very well. Facilitating the introductions is hugely important and this was very well done. You received, affirmed and appreciated participant input beautifully.
How well did the facilitator lead the Mindful Dialogues and Reflective Writing Exercises in this Skill? Please explain and give specific examples.
NA
What aspects of this Skill did you think the facilitator did exceptionally well? Please give examples.
Made time to meet with L2 Facilitators beforehand to plan for the introductory session and was open to input. Most importantly, reached out with additional questions beforehand to ensure that the presentation would go smoothly and confirm expectations.
Provided a quietly comfortable space that was, at the same time, open to being a little rowdy ;0).
How well did the facilitator lead the Contemplative Practice in this Skill? Please explain and give specific examples.
NA
What aspects of this Skill could the facilitator improve? Please give examples.
Can’t recall any, but the L2F may have been able to do a better job communicating and walking through where all the materials needed can be found. We may need to start walking people through this, one step at a time (unless materials can be more accessible in Sutra).
Do you recommend this facilitator to become certified?
